Jewellery & Watch Repairs

At John Bull Jewellers we have been offering a highly skilled jewellery & watch repair service for over 200 years. Our experienced team can offer informed advice about your item of jewellery or your precious time piece. Our repair service includes re-sizing of rings, soldering & strengthening items, cleaning & rhodium plating of white gold items and much more. Our watch repairs include battery change, replacement strap, partial servicing and complete overhaul of the movement & watch case. A list of watch brands we can service are as follows.

Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Ebel, Longines, Tissot, Certina, Hamilton, Zenith, Meistersinger, Rotary, Dreyfuss, Mondaine and Bering.

We offer free estimates on all jewellery repairs. Most watch repair estimate are also free; however a few watch houses charge a 'return undone fee' and this charge is passed onto the client and is £25.00. This covers postal costs and the technicians time.

Remodelling & Bespoke Service

We are a highly experienced team in guiding you through the possibilities of remodelling & re-designing an old piece of jewellery that perhaps you are not wearing any more. Perhaps you want to create something modern or maybe you want it made in a different metal; then we are here to help & inspire you ..... why not call in and sit down with one of the team to see what's possible. Please note that we charge £40.00 if a detailed design is submitted. This fee is refunded when the item is created.

Valuation Service

Are you looking for an accurate appraisal of your jewellery for insurance, family division, market value or probate purposes?

There are a number of reasons why you may need a jewellery or watch valuer and you can place your trust in our Registered valuer, who is a member of the National Association. Reg No. 91203

Your jewellery will be assessed in store and a detailed written appraisal with photographs will be provided. This means your precious jewellery will remain on the premises ensuring its safely.

Whatever type of valuation is requested, our valuer will provide a fully researched, detailed document. The fee can be based on a per item charge or sometimes a percentage based fee; whichever is more appropriate. And finally we charge a fixed fee of £35.00 if you need a post-loss letter for your insurance company. This fee is refundable if the lost or stolen item is replaced by us.
